Archiving is the gentle off-ramp for completed initiatives: out of default lists, but recoverable when a customer reopens a contract or an audit asks for historical context. Plan exports before archive if compliance requires cold storage.

Archive

Archiving hides a project from default lists while preserving history. Automation pauses so you do not enqueue jobs against dormant data.

Communication

Tell stakeholders when you archive so they do not think content was deleted. Link to the new canonical project if work continued elsewhere.

Partial archives

If only one stream is done, consider labels or subfolders instead of whole-project archive when other tracks remain active.

Restore

Workspace admins can restore within the retention window. Older archives may require support if your policy moved data to long-term storage.

Validation after restore

Spot-check permissions and integrations after restore—tokens may have rotated while the project was idle.

Compliance

Export before archive if your policy requires long-term cold storage outside the product. Keep checksums or manifest files so legal can prove what was frozen at a point in time.
